available on this page are representative of a trip taken during the
Spring of 2001 by students and professors from Austin College in Sherman,
Texas, as well as psychologists, members of the clergy, and
individuals from the community. . The trip was designed as an
alternative spring break to explore liberation theology, post-war mental
health, and environmental issues in El Salvador.
However, just prior to the trip major earthquakes that have shaken El Salvador occurred. Students subsequently had the opportunity to observe the impact of natural disaster as well as participate in delivering aid to communities in the country.
